Service Description: The burnt areas were obtained as polygons from the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS) of the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) (http://effis.jrc.ec.europa.eu). The polygons were dissolved in order to create one layer for all the years; therefore, if an area has been affected by fires on multiple occassions, it will just present as affected by fires.
